2025 Upper Deck World of Sports brings back a brand from the past, but with a different focus. Used many times before, the checklist still takes a global approach to sports. However, World of Sports is now focusing on college sports.
Hobby boxes promise an autograph as well as several inserts in each package from a cross-section of schools and programs across the country.
What to expect from a hobby box:
- Autographs - 1
- Around the Globe, Athletic Artisans or Making the Grade Parallels - 4
- Clear Competitors, Lucidity or Pure Athletes Acetate - 1
- Letterman Jackets - 5
- Prospective Talent Blue or Green Parallels - 3 Total
- Prospective Talent Outburst Parallels - 1
- Base Prospective Talents - 6
- Additional cards numbered in series - 3
The complete base set includes a total of 400 cards. The subjects are athletes from over 15 different colleges and universities, all fully licensed with logos and uniforms. Soccer, basketball, baseball, softball, gymnastics, volleyball and track and field are among the sports played by the players. This means that not only will these be the first sports cards for some athletes, but for some sports they may be their only cards.
The last 100 cards of the basic set are grouped together under the "Prospective Talent" banner. Similar to the Upper Deck flagship's Young Guns, these are short, modest draws, falling about every two hobby packs.
Main player cards don't have parallels, but Prospective Talent cards do:
- Blue Foilboard - 1:6 packs
- Green Foilboard - 1:12 packs

- Gold Spectrum Foilboard - 1/1
Selected cards also have autographed versions, which are 1:12 packs.
As for inserts, collectors will find several Around the Globe (1:4 packs), Athletic Artisans (1:4 packs) and Making the Grade (1:2 packs) cards in each pack. These cards have blue, green, orange (/499), purple (/299), red (/99) and gold (/10) parallels, as well as low-numbered autographs.
Similarly, there are Letterman jackets, which appear in all three packs. The only parallel for these jackets is Gold (/99).
Each hobby box contains an acetate insert of Clear Competitors (1:30 packs), Lucidity (1:40 packs) or Pure Athletes (1:40 packs).
The 2025 Upper Deck World of Sports checklist contains some rare chase sets with Sizzle (1:144 packs) and the very rare World of Ballers (1:432 packs).
