2025-26 SP Game Used Hockey marks the 25th edition of the annual series that helped launch the original souvenir card boom.

A mainstay of the field hockey card industry since 2000-2001, SP Game Used Edition has built up a fan community that makes it one of the most eagerly awaited releases each year. Upper Deck has launched similar products for baseball, basketball and American soccer, but the brand has not enjoyed the same success as in field hockey, with a shelf life of one year in baseball, three years in American soccer and seven years in basketball.

And with this new edition comes an exciting new hunt: cards featuring memorabilia from the first 4 Nations Face-Off tournament held between the USA, Canada, Finland and Sweden in February 2025.

What's in a Hobby box (on average):

For the second year running, SP Game Used Hockey is offering collectors a nine-card pack in each box, comprising a combination of four autographs, Memorabilia cards, autographed Memorabilia cards or premium insert cards; a combination of three base cards, Authentic Rookies or New Grooves inserts; and a combination of two base cards, Authentic Rookies or New Grooves parallels.

The 2025-26 SP Game Used Hockey series includes a 200-card base set, a mix of veterans and legends, which will be followed by an Authentic Rookies series.

• Green /1

There will also be a variety of autographs and memorabilia alongside the basic series and Authentic Rookies.

Memorabilia and autographs at a glance

As the brand name suggests, memorabilia will take center stage in the 2025-26 SP Game Used Hockey collection.

In addition to material used during regular games, Upper Deck has produced cards that include memorabilia from the Stanley Cup Playoffs, NHL Global Series, NHL Stadium Series, Winter Classic and 4 Nations Face-Off.

Other Memorabilia series include rookie jerseys (/299), troop outfits (/199), game gear (/100), giant rookie patches (/25) and supreme materials (/15).

Supreme patches (/15) are also back, with giant patches. The series will include 4 Nations Face Off crests.

Collectors can also look out for Puck Relics and Net Cord cards, featuring goal strings from debuts and other special events.

Continuing a concept launched in 2012, Upper Deck is bringing back Draft Day Marks letter patches. These cards feature self-adhesive letters that, when assembled, form the surname of a player selected in the draft.

The player then signs 35 copies of each letter of his surname, making them superb collectors' items for those who manage to find all the letters.

Rookies also sign for Inked Rookie Sweaters cards (/99), which have a parallel Patch version (/25). Veterans also have Inked Sweater cards (1:100 packs) and a parallel Patch version (/25).

Banner cards are back, with banner pieces commemorating Draft Years, Global Series, Stadium Series, Stanley Cup Finals and Winter Classic. Autographed versions of these cards are also available.

Inserts at a glance

Among the inserts are the New Grooves cards, which come in red (/499), gold (/149), rainbow (/99), purple (/5) and green (/1) parallel versions. The set also includes parallel Jersey and Autograph versions.

There's also a brand-new, numbered NHL Masters insert (/299) featuring Jersey and Patch parallels of rookies, veterans and field hockey greats.
