2024-25 Upper Deck Engrained Icons Hockey sticks to the past. Like previous versions of Engrained, field hockey sticks are the main theme of the checklist. This time, however, it's a fully reprocessed version covering some of the NHL's stars and greats of yesteryear.

What to expect from a hobby box:

Engrained Icons is available in a high-end configuration with three autographs or memorial cards in each box of six cards.

The 100-card basic deck harks back to previous generations, with a modern design and wooden motif. The standard parallels have three levels, each more modest than the last, all of which take up the wood theme: Ebony (/199), Mahogany (/75) and Rosewood (1/1).

Some cards also have autographed versions in Ebony (/49 or less), Mahogany (/10 or less) and Rosewood (/5 or less).

Cuts of Class (1:3 packs) is one of the many places where you can find pieces of the sticks used in matches. Gold parallels are numbered up to 49. The theme continues with Duals (/49), Triples (/25) and Quads (/10) with multiple players. The latter also have Gold versions, which are numbered to 25 for Duals, 15 for Triples and 5 for Quads.

Vestiges are another place where you can find souvenirs of game use. The checklist of these cards is structured by levels, with cards numbered to 100 or less, 25 or less for gold parallels.

Tapes and VHS cassettes are brought together for Highlight Tapes, which come in single (/35) and double (/25) versions, as well as Gold parallels (/10).

Other souvenir series include Complete Sticks (/49), Rough Cuts (/49) and Stickside Splinters (/25).

Complete Sticks are also entitled to an autograph (/25).

Distinctive signs, stick plates and double stick plates are all unique pieces.

It's not just the players who are part of the past. Beehive Portrait Signatures are inspired by one of field hockey's best vintage lines. Basic versions are available approximately every other pack. Red Ink parallels are numbered to 5.

The only standard inserts on the checklist are Carved in Time. Numbered to 100, they are produced on wood. Autographed versions are numbered 1/750.
