The 2024-25 Upper Deck Ice Hockey collection is clear in its essence. Although not all the cards in the product are made from this material, acetate is the star element here. It is used in various parts of the checklist, including numerous autographs, familiar inserts and the Ice Premieres subset, the cornerstone of the collection.
What a hobby box contains (on average):
- Autographed cards or memorabilia - 1 in total
- Arcticulates - 2

- Sub Zero - 1
- Emerald Parallels - 12
- Purple Parallels - 3
- Ice Premieres - 3
- Base Rookies - 12
Hobby boxes offer a wide variety, including either an autograph card or a memorabilia card. You can also expect to find at least five inserts and 15 parallels in an average box.
The basic set includes 250 cards. It is divided into three distinct sections: 100 veterans, 50 basic recruits and 100 Ice Premieres.
Veterans and basic recruits have the same parallel assortment:
- Emerald green - 1 per pack
- Violet - 1:4 packs
- Grayscale - /99
- Black - 1/1
Some cards also feature a jersey (1:96 packs), a gold patch (/25, recruits /35), a numbered gold patch, white snowflake autographs (1:288 packs, recruits 1:216 packs) and red autographs (/5).
Ice Premieres offer more rookies, this time in acetate. Depending on the player, there are five levels of prints numbered 999, 799, 499, 249 or 99. Parallels include blue (/599), green (/399), gold (/25) and black (1/1). These are also given special treatment in Jersey (1:60), Autograph (/199 or /99), Patch (/25), Auto Patch (/10) and Auto Patch Black (1/1).
Autographs and Other Inserts
Acetate Glacial Graphs return. Standard versions land approximately 1:12 hobby boxes. There are also Black parallels that come numbered to varying amounts.
Frozen in Ice cards (1:24) are tear-off cards containing smaller mini-cards. Inside cards include Ice Premieres Minis, Ice Premieres Minis Gold (/99) and Ice Premieres Minis Autographs (/15).
Sub Zero is another theme returning to the Upper Deck Ice Hockey 2024-25 list. Stars cards are present in 1 pack out of 32 and have Gold parallels limited to just eight copies. Sub Zero Rookies cards are numbered 799 or 599. Some novice players also have Variations (1 in 500 packs) and rare autographs. All Sub Zero cards are combined to fall at a rate of one per hobby box.
A handful of new insert sets make their appearance in Ice.
Articulated cards come with sheet stock. Veterans are 1:9 packs while rookies are 1:20. Gold (/99) and Black (/10) parallels are also available.
SP Ice has a total of 100 cards, four for each of the 25 different players. Rarity varies according to color. 1:48 packs are the most common, while the rarest are 1:288.
Other inserts include Go to Work (1:576 packs), Ice Shelves (1:576 packs) and World Junior Championships (/99). Some Go to Work and Ice Shelves cards also feature numbered autographs.
Exquisite Collection
Once again, Upper Deck's luxurious Exquisite Collection is part of Ice. It includes various inserts and autographs.
To start with, there are the Exquisite Rookies (/299). These also have Platinum Blue (/199), Gold Spectrum (/99) and Black (1/1) parallels.
Exquisite Rookies Signatures are numbered to 99 and have their own Platinum Blue (/25), Gold Spectrum (/10) and Black (1/1) versions.
Refined Rookies Signatures are also available. The basic versions are available in 50 copies each, while the Gold Spectrum parallels are unique pieces.
The Exquisite Crystal (/25) cards are new and made on Plexiglas.
