CONTENT HIGHLIGHTS
The base set consists of 100 regular cards - each featuring a unique background design provided by the team that created the original 1997-98 Metal Universe set - and 50 high-sub set Metal Shredders cards (a new name and design for the high-sub set). The diverse checklist features top prospects, current superstars and legends from various sports: baseball, basketball, boxing, soccer, golf, field hockey, MMA, soccer, tennis and more!
The wide range of parallels will appeal to fans and collectors alike! There are seven colored PMG parallels, in series, ranging from red (# to 150) to purple (# 'd 1 on 1), as well as low # 'd Auto and Gold Auto parallels.
The 2022 edition of Skybox Metal Universe Champions features a host of intriguing inserts, including several new additions:
NEW! 1997-98 Metal Universe Championship Retro: This collection of cards features the best athletes from the base set on the 1997-98 Metal Universe Championship base set design. Each box will contain an average of three of these cards. There are also red and green PMG parallels numbered in series!
NEW! 2500 degrees: This "hot" new set and its super-rare automatic parallel feature an impressive checklist.
A Cut Above: One of the most popular inserts of the 2021 edition is back. Each Rainbow foilboard cut card features one of the best athletes from the base set.
NEW! Championship Galaxy: This is a reworked PETG version of a classic insert and includes one of the best checklists.
Fresh Foundations: the checklist in this colorful set includes only the best prospects and young stars! Like the basic set, there are seven serially numbered PMG parallels, highlighted by the purple 1-on-1 parallel, as well as Auto (Varied #'ing) and Gold Auto (# 'd to 10) parallels.

Skybox Premium: another classic insert featuring the best names in the basic set. There are six # 'd series parallels, highlighted by the Star Amethyst (# 'd to 10) and Star Diamond (# 'd 1-of-1) parallels, as well as a defined # 'd to 50 design variant that sports the Skybox Premium Star Ruby 1998-99 design! There's also a rare automatic parallel of the set of design variants. Each box will contain, on average, three regular Skybox Premium cards.
